Mommy's French Toast

This is the recipe that Mommy uses. Now I have something yummy to make with my overcooked Challah from Easter. :) Alissa, have you had this? I know you're not a fan of french toast - neither am I, but this is GOOD!

Oh, that looks good. Kind of sounds like a gooey cinnamon roll. I'll have to try that. I need to have people over or something. Everytime I make something, I feel like I'm the only one that eats it. Or it just gets thrown away. Maybe I could scale the recipe down.

yeah, I know what you mean. I feel like I throw alot of food away. Do you send lunch with Aaron? That's the only way I'm able to get rid of stuff around here. I probably make 2 or 3 dinners a week and then we eat the leftovers the rest of the time. Produce is my big problem...maybe I should stop buying it at Costco...

Aaron only takes lunch every now and then. Maybe once or twice a week. And it's normally a sandwich, because that is all he has time for or he is on the road. Produce is a problem for me too. My worst lately is getting grapes. I love grapes, but I always seem to be throwing away tubs of them, because I can't eat them fast enough before they go bad.

You guys need Trader Joes!! I have been buying alot of fruit there-good and cheap!...I hardly ever throw food away! It's just me and I eat it or my roommates will eat it.

Btw, I have made the french toast for church things and cut the butter some and it was still raved about.

Mer, when you have made this, what kind of bread to you use? Do you make the bread?

I used store bought french/italian bread.
